Tip of the Day

Playing the Percentages

You?re in the middle of a tight match, and you come to a par-3 with a carry over water and the pin tucked to the front portion of the green, just six feet from the water?s edge. The pin is 155 yards away -- the exact distance that you hit your 7-iron if you catch it cleanly. Your opponent has hit into the water. Unless you hit your 7-iron cleanly 75% of the time or more, reach for your 6-iron and play the ball safely to the center of the green instead of taking the seven and trying to hit it to birdie range. By doing this you will play safer golf which will lead to lower scores.
