Many golfers make the mistake of ignoring the three-wood on their tee shots. The three-wood is a great driving club when there?s a premium on accuracy. You don?t always have to hit the driver off the tee, particularly on tight courses. The swing preparation is much the same as for a driver. Here?s how to master this shot: Take the club low and away on the backswing, maintaining sufficient width all the way to the top. Make a full shoulder turn while restricting hip turn. Your weight will move well into your right side. At the top, the left arm should be extended and well away from the head to put the shaft in good position, short of parallel to the ground. From that position, just let the hands and arms fall naturally.
